Have communication &#8211; effective &#8211;    <\/span><\/span><\/span><span class=\"TrackedChange SCXW29934678 BCX0\"><span class=\"TextRun SCXW29934678 BCX0\" lang=\"FR-CA\" xml:lang=\"FR-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW29934678 BCX0\">at<\/span><\/span><\/span><span class=\"TrackedChange SCXW29934678 BCX0\"><span class=\"TextRun SCXW29934678 BCX0\" lang=\"FR-CA\" xml:lang=\"FR-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW29934678 BCX0\">  distance has become a d<\/span><\/span><\/span><span class=\"TrackedChange SCXW29934678 BCX0\"><span class=\"TextRun SCXW29934678 BCX0\" lang=\"FR-CA\" xml:lang=\"FR-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW29934678 BCX0\">\u00e9<\/span><\/span><\/span><span class=\"TrackedChange SCXW29934678 BCX0\"><span class=\"TextRun SCXW29934678 BCX0\" lang=\"FR-CA\" xml:lang=\"FR-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW29934678 BCX0\">Sir of many managers!<\/span><\/span><\/span><span class=\"TrackedChange SCXW29934678 BCX0\"><span class=\"TextRun SCXW29934678 BCX0\" lang=\"FR-CA\" xml:lang=\"FR-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\"> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW29934678 BCX0\"> (<\/span><span class=\"ContextualSpellingAndGrammarError SCXW29934678 BCX0\">and<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW29934678 BCX0\"> their <\/span> <\/span><\/span><span class=\"TrackedChange SCXW29934678 BCX0\"><span class=\"TextRun SCXW29934678 BCX0\" lang=\"FR-CA\" xml:lang=\"FR-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW29934678 BCX0\">\u00e9<\/span><\/span><\/span><span class=\"TrackedChange SCXW29934678 BCX0\"><span class=\"TextRun SCXW29934678 BCX0\" lang=\"FR-CA\" xml:lang=\"FR-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW29934678 BCX0\">Team<\/span><\/span><\/span><span class=\"TrackedChange SCXW29934678 BCX0\"><span class=\"TextRun SCXW29934678 BCX0\" lang=\"FR-CA\" xml:lang=\"FR-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW29934678 BCX0\">\u202f<\/span><\/span><\/span><span class=\"TextRun SCXW29934678 BCX0\" lang=\"FR-CA\" xml:lang=\"FR-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW29934678 BCX0\">?<\/span><\/span><span class=\"TrackedChange SCXW29934678 BCX0\"><span class=\"TextRun SCXW29934678 BCX0\" lang=\"FR-CA\" xml:lang=\"FR-CA\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW29934678 BCX0\">).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Currently, almost all of my clients are experiencing this difficulty<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">: how to have <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">effective<\/span> communication <span data-contrast=\"auto\"> at a distance.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> That is, communication that is relevant, that is <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">mobilizing<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> and that does not take up all day!<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">By remote communication, I mean <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the use of software such as Zoom, Teams or <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Hangout or phone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This article presents the four criteria for effective communication at a distance as well as <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the pitfalls<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> to avoid<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":259}\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p aria-level=\"2\"><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335559738\":40,\"335559739\":0,\"335559740\":259}\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<h2 aria-level=\"2\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">The four criteria for effective remote communication<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">1. Frequency of a remote communication<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">First, the<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">frequency<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> of communication needed <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">a few weeks after the onset of an attack may be different<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> from the one you used at the beginning of the seizure!<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":259}\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For example, here is what an optimal<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> <\/span> frequency might look like <span data-contrast=\"auto\">about 3 weeks after the onset of the attack:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"134233279\":true,\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":259}\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5221 aligncenter size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/uniquecoaching.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/article-conversationadistance-reunion-1024x1024.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/uniquecoaching.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/article-conversationadistance-reunion-1024x1024.png 1024w, https:\/\/uniquecoaching.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/article-conversationadistance-reunion-980x980.png 980w, https:\/\/uniquecoaching.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/article-conversationadistance-reunion-480x480.png 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<h4><strong>Monday \u2013 1 hour or 2 hours depending on the size of the team<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"6\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">From adord, taking<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> the pulse <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">of team members \u2013 how are they? <\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">This can be done in a group. While some people   <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Ask<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">To be more reassured<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> or have <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">special needs<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, talk to them one by one.<\/span><\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"134233279\":true,\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":259}\"> <\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"6\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Then, set the priorities for the week<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. The p<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">must be clear. That is, with deadlines and deliverables. So clear  <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">And<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> each person can send a progress report at the end of the day.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"134233279\":true,\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":259}\"> <\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"6\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Finally, escalate<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> the information retrieved from the<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> various teams <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">to senior management. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The goal is for senior management<\/span> to <span data-contrast=\"auto\"> know what&#8217;s going on emotionally so that they can adjust their communication and decisions accordingly<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">  of current energy. We are still in a time of crisis and everyone is going through a phase of adaptation at their own pace. We must not forget that.  <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"134233279\":true,\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":259}\"> <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Tuesday morning \u2013 15 minutes  <\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"6\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Tour of &#8220;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">table<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8220;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> to ask three questions<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">: what was done yesterday, what is on the schedule today, what are the anticipated problems.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"6\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Special cases are managed<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">in <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">discussion <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">one by one.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"134233279\":true,\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":259}\"> <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Wednesday \u2013 15 minutes + 1h30<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"6\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Tour of &#8220;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">table<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Like<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Tuesday!<\/span><\/i><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"134233279\":true,\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":259}\"> <\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"6\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"2\">+ go for a <i style=\"font-family: Poppins, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">check-in<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-family: Poppins, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\" data-contrast=\"auto\">  with the people on your team. How are they doing? What are they concerned about? Take the opportunity to give them feedback   <\/span> <span style=\"font-family: Poppins, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\" data-contrast=\"auto\"> and recognize them.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Poppins, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\" data-contrast=\"auto\"> The <i style=\"font-family: Poppins, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">check-in<\/span><\/i> will be used to make adjustments to priorities.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Poppins, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\" data-ccp-props=\"{\"134233279\":true,\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":259}\"> <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Thursday \u2013 15 minutes  <\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"6\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Tour of &#8220;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">table<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Like<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Tuesday!<\/span><\/i><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"134233279\":true,\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":259}\"> <\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"6\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Friday <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u2013<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">1pm-2pm<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"134233279\":true,\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":259}\"> <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Friday \u2013 1pm-2pm<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"6\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Team review of the week<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"134233279\":true,\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":259}\"> <\/span><\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"6\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"2\">Accomplishments<\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"6\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"2\">The challenges<\/li>\n<li data-leveltext=\"o\" data-font=\"Courier New\" data-listid=\"6\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"2\">This must be put in place next week to facilitate the<span style=\"font-family: Poppins, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\" data-contrast=\"auto\">challenges<\/span><span style=\"font-family: Poppins, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\" data-ccp-props=\"{\"134233279\":true,\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":259}\"> <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Managers<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">: be careful with <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">patterns. <\/span><\/i>For<span data-contrast=\"auto\">example, when<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the same problems <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">are mentioned during meetings, without a solution<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">applied<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">The next article will be about difficult conversations, both in-person and remotely. Length<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">of a remote communication<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Secondly, your<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">encounters could <\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">be shorter and shorter. L <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Most<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">people <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">have mastered<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> the new tools<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">U<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">a routine has set in. Take advantage of this to get straight to the point in your communications.   <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":259}\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Online, the attention span is 7 minutes.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In addition, you have to be dynamic<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> AND<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">focused on the agenda.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">  So, vary. Do not exceed a total duration of 2 hours. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">If necessary, use online collaborative tools such as Mural, Miro  <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">or others according to your needs. This way, you can energize the meetings during which you need to contribute! <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":259}\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Then, if you still have technological challenges: several tutorials exist online, free of charge. S <span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":259}\">Inon platforms as such offer support and training materials, invest 30 minutes in that, you&#8217;ll save tons more. It&#8217;s a good investment, teleworking will continue! I preach \ud83d\ude09  <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">3. Content <\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">of a remote communication<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A meeting must have an agenda. This agenda must be communicated in advance and its content must be addressed to all those included in the meeting.   <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":259}\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>4. <\/strong><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Participants <\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">in a remote communication<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Finally, s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The people relevant to the meeting must be part of it. Indeed, a person who has no interest can turn off his camera,   <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Read and answer questions  <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">emails, etc. In doing so, it is as if she were giving   <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Permission<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> for others to do it, and wham, you&#8217;ve just lost other people&#8217;s attention.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\"201341983\":0,\"335559739\":160,\"335559740\":259}\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">As you can see, the sign that does not lie about the effectiveness of your communications<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">: loss of interest<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. <\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">Is there a lack of interaction? Or is one person taking up too much space?
